Piyush started off as an entrepreneur 12 years back when he bootstrapped a music e-tailing venture in India. After earning his stripes in entrepreneurship through this experience, he set up and grew an e-commerce enabled content website for Raymond’s, one of the large business conglomerates in India. Subsequently, he joined Baazee.com in India and after its acquisition by eBay, continued to work with eBay India till June 2008. During his tenure at Baazee.com, he was responsible for Internet Marketing, Ad Sales and Cross-border Trade at various points of time. His achievements include being the first employee Power Seller at eBay; he represented eBay India in various marketing conferences across the world, became the first employee to earn a diploma from eBay’s Marketing college in the US, was awarded Employee of the year once - nominated several times - and also represented eBay India at eBay LIVE, eBay’s signature event in the US. Having been in the internet industry right since he started working, Piyush is one of the best experts in India on Digital Marketing and in his tenure, Quikr ( which he co-founded with a colleague at eBay in July 2008) within a span of 2 years became India’s leading horizontal classifieds site. In Quikr he was a part of the management team and was responsible for Customer Acquisition, strategic partnerships ,Ad Revenues and Analytics. He joined Homeshop18 as General Manager – Product Management and Marketing for their ecommerce business in August 2010 and now homeshop18.com is in the top 5 retail ecommerce sites (source:Comscore) in India and TV18 Homeshopping as a company is India’s leading virtual shopping company.
Piyush earned a B.Com. PGDIT and an MBA, and has the unique distinction of studying in over 10 schools across India when he was growing up.
